I consider myself a natural beauty photographer. It is an important part of both my personal and professional philosophy. Real beauty excites me and I love capturing it in photos. I wholeheartedly agree with Marilyn Monroe’s quote, “A smile is the best accessory a girl can wear.” When we are happy and healthy, beauty really does shine from the inside. And, what goes better on the smiling lips of a health conscious lady than some natural (chemical-free) lip gloss?
After reading “No More Dirty Looks: the ultimate guide to safe and clean cosmetics” Although I have written in the past about natural beauty tips, I’ve realized that there are many more harsh chemicals in our beauty products than I ever imagined. Thankfully, I have never been one to wear much make-up. But I still regularly don mascara, blush and some colored lip-gloss. This has forced me to ask the question: what natural makeup is best?
As you may already know, many lipsticks and glosses on the market contain all sorts of cancer causing chemicals, such as lead and parabens, and people are starting to demand clean beauty products. Several companies have risen to the challenge and created clean, beautiful, and lasting natural make-up. For this I would like to say a big- thank you!
As Valentine’s is coming up, I want share some of my favorite kissable (all natural) lip-glosses that look great in person and on camera.
~Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss: I love their lip balm, and was very excited to find out they have so many lovely shades of lip-gloss.
~Bath & Body Works Mentha Lip Tint: I was turned on to this one by my good friend and business development expert, Shaleah Dawnyel. It is moisturizing and infused with peppermint oil. Bonus of fresh breath and shiny, slightly tinted lips!
~Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss: This super shiny gloss is all organic with a subtle color selection.
~RMS Lip2Cheek: This one is on the pricey side, but is also the right consistency for blush as well. And, the packaging is clean and pretty. It’s the one in the middle below.
