Although on a side note, if you're talking about on of OkCupid's "studies", their methodology & data analysis is beyond lousy, totally unscientific. They draw conclusions that, sure, the data may seem to support on the surface, if you don't actually know anything about analyzing data. I am glad for both of us that we have retired our stead and are loving ourselves even more. You are an inspiration and a blessings. Getting old brings perhaps for a person fear, that is, the ultimate fear of dying. Therefore youth is considered by most in our society as being the furthest from that fear. Interestingly, and I agree with you here, wisdom is the only thing we might take with us when we die. Yet, in this society wisdom doesn't seem to be a thing people want to accumulate. Far better to accumulate material things for they are easier and more comfortable to obtain. Wisdom surely comes from a life lived over and over facing you fears and gently overcoming difficulties.
